FAQ's
Is 9k gold or 14k gold best for new piercings?
We suggest 14k due to the higher mix of gold and no higher than 18k as otherwise will be too soft and scratch where bacteria can build up.
Will the colour of my solid gold jewellery fade?
No, unlike plated jewellery solid gold will never permanently change colour.
Can I wear my solid gold jewellery to the gym and in the shower?
Yes you can. You need to be careful with opals in water as it’s a porous stone and can lose its colour. The beauty of solid gold jewellery is you never need to take it off. It may need a clean every now and then from any build-up of soap and perfume etc but it will clean up just as new!
My earrings have changed to a copper colour, I thought solid gold never changed colour?
This can happen. Solid gold will never permanently change colour but some body oils and chemicals such as shampoo can build up and leave a tarnish film on the surface. The good news is this can clean off nicely, it’s only on the surface, some stubborn discolouration may need a professional clean.
